My neighbor buried his old fridge in the ground: we were all shocked by this scene

My neighbor has a lot of handyman skills. He fixes anything that breaks in their home. His wife frequently gripes that since her husband always manages to fix the old appliances, they never purchase new ones.

I was passing his yard recently when I observed something odd. An ancient refrigerator’s top protruded from the ground. For a moment, I paused and gazed at this image, trying to understand why someone would bury a refrigerator in the dirt.

To be honest, I was unable to come up with a rational explanation for such an action.

I decided to question my neighbor immediately because I was so curious. All he did was smile and ask me to look more closely.

“This is my new cellar,” he said with pride.

As it happened, he only left the refrigerator’s lid above the earth after burying it. He now keeps fruits and vegetables, including apples, inside.

He clarified that the ground remains chilly throughout the year. Thus, it’s the ideal location for food storage.

His creativity astounded me. Who would have guessed that a mini-cellar could be made out of a busted refrigerator? I now have a different perspective on outdated equipment; perhaps I ought to give it a go as well.

How do you feel about this concept?
