Mendoza said that Arakawa had a normal day at work, which ended with unanswered emails and a protracted mystery. Arakawa’s day began with a morning letter to his massage therapist, followed by a trip to the grocery store in the afternoon.

Later, surveillance footage showed her briefly entering a CVS pharmacy. Mendoza noted that she wore a mask in public that day, a habit that, according to friends, she followed to protect her husband, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, from illness.

Her business continued with a visit to the pet food store, after which she returned home around 5:15 p.m., which was the last known event from Arakawa, as she did not respond to any emails after that.

Mendoza also said that two days earlier, on February 9, Arakawa took Zinna, the couple’s dog, from a veterinary procedure, which may explain why the animal was found in a cage.

However, in addition to what she did, information was also published that Arakawa was unable to do on February 11. Gene Hackman’s wife never picked up the dog food and medicine she ordered for one of her beloved pets at the Gruda Veterinary Clinic in southwest Santa Fe.

For many years, Arakawa visited the clinic regularly, always making sure that her three dogs, Zinna, Mishka and Nikita, had everything they needed. When she couldn’t pick up the order, the clinic staff became worried.
