We’ve all met people who think the world revolves around them. These people can be rude and then wonder why others don’t like them. You can find them anywhere: on a bus, in the subway, or even in your own home. It’s even worse when people close to you act this way.

The Story:
My husband and I bought a 2-bedroom apartment. I work from home, so I use the smaller room as my office. Recently, my mother-in-law visited us. While my husband was showing her around, I was making tea in the kitchen.
A minute later, she came in holding my laptop and said, “There’s a computer in my room. We shouldn’t put anything there. You need to check with me first.” I was so surprised I didn’t know what to say.
I know my mother-in-law isn’t insecure, but I didn’t expect her to be so rude. She seems to think one of the rooms is hers and that she can visit us anytime. I told my husband about it, but he doesn’t believe she would say that.
