It is not uncommon for murderers to interfere in an investigation and even give police tips. Maybe some people just can’t resist walking around the edge and getting an adrenaline rush, or maybe they’re trying to look like simple bystanders. However, this man was unable to deceive the police when he appeared for questioning.
Not much is known about Linda Riley’s life before her disappearance on February 27, 2012, and what we know is mostly gleaned from an interview with Jay Roth.
A man came to the Springfield Police Department police station in Missouri, presumably to find out about the disappearance of his friend. According to the youtuber “Thoughts of a Criminal,” when the man appeared at the police station, he seemed genuinely concerned about Riley’s friend.
The day before, Riley was reported missing by her neighbor, who was worried that calls to her house were going unanswered. When the neighbor came to check on her, she found that her house was unlocked, and Riley herself was nowhere to be found.
