The grandson of former US President Jimmy Carter recently spoke about his grandfather’s health on the eve of the politician’s 100th birthday. He shared his thoughts during a musical event dedicated to Jimmy.
On the eve of the October 1 celebration of the incredible anniversary of former President Jimmy Carter, his loving grandson Jason Carter shared some new thoughts about his grandfather’s health. The words he shared were uttered after Jason revealed that Jimmy was receiving hospice care in his hometown of Plains, Georgia.
Speaking to People magazine at Jimmy Carter’s birthday concert “100 Years of Jimmy Carter: A Celebration in Song,” Jason noted that although Jimmy cannot exercise on his own, he is still very emotionally present and aware of what is happening.
“I mean, he’s been in hospice for over 19 months now, and his physical condition has really deteriorated […], but he’s emotionally involved and still worries, laughs and loves,” Jason said. He then added, “[He] gets to know the world as well as he can by continuing this process.”
