Husband Files for Divorce When His Wife Gets Pregnant for the Fifth Time

Todd was a businessman who lived selfishly. He believed the world revolved around him and did not care about how he treated other people, including his own wife, Linda. She had no idea just how selfish he could be until they started welcoming children. Todd had made no secret about his desire to raise male kids, but Linda had not paid attention to that because she thought every man always wanted boys.

They had four daughters together, and each time, Todd’s disappointment was palpable. He was cold and distant during each pregnancy and even more so after each daughter was born. Linda loved their girls dearly and couldn’t understand why Todd couldn’t see the blessing they were.

When Linda became pregnant for the fifth time, Todd’s reaction was different. Instead of the usual disappointment, there was an eerie silence. Linda thought maybe he was coming around and would finally be excited regardless of the baby’s gender. But she was wrong.

A few weeks into the pregnancy, Todd came home one evening with a stern expression.

Todd: “Linda, we need to talk.”

Linda: “What’s wrong, Todd?”

Todd: “I can’t do this anymore. I want a divorce.”

Linda: “What? Why now? What’s changed?

Todd: “I don’t want another child, especially if it’s not a boy. I can’t handle this anymore. I need my freedom.”

Linda was stunned. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She had known Todd was selfish, but this was beyond anything she had imagined.

Linda: “Todd, how can you be so heartless? These are your children! What about our family?”

Todd: “I’ve made up my mind, Linda. I want out.”

Linda was left to face her pregnancy and raise their daughters alone. Todd filed for divorce and quickly moved on with his life, leaving Linda and the girls behind. The divorce was finalized swiftly, and Todd didn’t look back.

Years passed, and Linda raised their daughters with love and care. She made sure they knew they were cherished and valued, even if their father wasn’t around. Despite the hardship, Linda found strength in her children and became a successful entrepreneur, turning her life around.

Meanwhile, Todd’s life took a different turn. His business ventures began to fail, and he found himself alone and struggling. He realized too late the value of family and the joy his daughters could have brought into his life. He watched from a distance as Linda and the girls thrived without him.
One day, Todd ran into an old friend who told him about a successful charity event Linda had organized. It was to support single mothers, inspired by her own journey. Todd felt a pang of regret and decided to reach out to Linda.
Todd: “Linda, it’s been a long time. Can we talk?”

Linda: “What do you want, Todd?”

Todd: “I’ve made many mistakes. I regret leaving you and the girls. I was wrong. Can you ever forgive me?”

Linda looked at him, seeing the man who had abandoned them in their time of need. She thought of the strength she had found and the happiness she had created with her daughters.

Linda: “Todd, forgiveness is for your own peace, but don’t expect things to go back to the way they were. We’ve built a life without you, and we’re happy. I hope you find what you’re looking for, but it’s too late for us.”

Todd realized that his selfishness had cost him the most important things in life. As he walked away, he knew he had to live with the consequences of his actions. Linda and the girls continued to thrive, their bond unbreakable, proving that love and resilience can overcome even the deepest betrayals.
