Beloved UNC Star Receiver Tragically Dies at 23 After Brave Battle with Cancer

North Carolina wide receiver Tylee Craft passed away on Saturday morning after a prolonged battle with cancer, the university confirmed.

Craft, 23, from Sumter, South Carolina, was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer on March 14, 2022. Since then, the UNC community has supported him through the #TyleeStrong campaign. Despite undergoing extensive treatments, the cancer spread to his body and brain. Remarkably, Craft pursued his education, enrolling in graduate courses for a master’s degree in applied professional studies, and he graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science/sports administration.
