Hollywood legend Sally Field, who has shared revelations about her osteoporosis and aging, is enjoying the life of a grandmother of five children living in a beautiful house overlooking the ocean. The 77-year-old owner’s 2,800-square-foot estate boasts breathtaking views and other great details.
In 2005, when Field was not yet 60 years old, she was sadly diagnosed with osteoporosis, which is often called a “silent disease” due to the absence of early symptoms until it leads to damage to the body.
The veteran star said about the diagnosis: “I always knew that I fit the risk profile. I was thin, thin-boned, white, and approaching 60 years old. But I was amazed at how quickly a woman can move from a risk group to full-fledged osteoporosis.”
This disease weakens bones to such an extent that they break easily, including the bones of the hip, wrist and spine. According to available data, women are more susceptible to this disease than men, mainly due to hormonal changes that occur when menopause is reached and affect bone density.
