A Dress Shop Assistant Humiliated My Grandma, So I Taught Her a Lesson She’ll Never Forget

Before my wedding, my grandma, who’s always been the sweetest and most loving person, returned from the dress shop where she wanted to buy something special for my big day, her eyes wet and looking really heartbroken. When I asked her what happened, she didn’t want to tell me at first. But after some coaxing, Grandma finally told me that the shop assistant publicly humiliated her with a sneer on her face.

**Grandma**: “Yes, I’m looking for a dress for my granddaughter’s wedding.”

**Assistant**: “For you? Well, good luck finding something that won’t look like a tent on you. Our dresses are for more, uh, modern figures. You should lose some weight to shop in stores like ours.”
I was mortified. NOBODY ON EARTH is allowed to treat my grandma like this. So I decided to stand up for my Granny in a sly way.
The next day, I walked into the same boutique, dressed impeccably and with an air of confidence. The same shop assistant greeted me with a polite smile, clearly not recognizing me.

**Assistant**: “Good afternoon! How can I help you today?”

**Me**: “Yes, I’m looking for a wedding dress.”

Her eyes lit up at the prospect of a big sale. She eagerly led me to the section with the most expensive dresses.

**Assistant**: “These are some of our finest pieces. I’m sure you’ll find something perfect for your big day.”

I spent a considerable amount of time trying on dress after dress, making sure to ask for her opinion on each one. She was extremely attentive, showering me with compliments and praising my “modern figure.”

After what felt like an eternity, I selected the most expensive dress in the store. The assistant’s face glowed with satisfaction, no doubt imagining the hefty commission she was about to earn.

**Me**: “This dress is perfect. I’ll take it.”

We walked to the counter, and just as she was about to ring up the sale, I pulled out my phone and showed her a picture of my grandma.

**Me**: “Do you recognize this woman?”

Her smile faltered, and a look of confusion crossed her face.

**Assistant**: “I… I think she came in yesterday.”
**Me**: “Yes, she did. She’s my grandma. She told me how you humiliated her, and I can’t believe anyone could be so cruel. Your behavior was unacceptable.”

Her face turned ashen, and she stammered an apology.

**Assistant**: “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to—”

**Me**: “Save it. I wouldn’t buy anything from a place that treats people the way you treated my grandma.”

I turned on my heel and walked out, making sure everyone in the store could hear me.

**Me**: “I’ll be taking my business elsewhere, and I’ll make sure everyone I know hears about how you treat your customers.”

The assistant’s face was a picture of horror and regret as she realized the potential fallout from her actions.

Later, I took my grandma to another boutique where we were treated with kindness and respect. She found a beautiful dress that made her feel special, and I made sure to leave a glowing review for the new shop.

As for the first boutique, word quickly spread about their poor treatment of customers. Their business took a noticeable hit, and the assistant learned a valuable lesson about the importance of respect and kindness.

My wedding day was perfect, and seeing my grandma beam with pride in her beautiful dress made it even more special. No one should ever have to feel the way she did, and I was glad I could stand up for her in a way that she deserved.
