At a touching family gathering, Serafina Affleck named their chosen name, which marked a new chapter in the story of their lives. This act was a continuation of a growing trend among the children of celebrities who boldly accept their own truths and preferred identity.
Recently, at a family event, the 15-year-old son of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck informed the public that he has a new name: Fin Affleck. It happened at a memorial service for Jennifer’s father, William Jack Garner, which was held at Christ Church United Methodist Church in Charleston, West Virginia.
This was the first time Fin had publicly used their new name. Dressed in a chic black suit and with a short haircut, Fin, formerly known as Serafina Rose Affleck, approached the lectern and introduced herself: “Hello, my name is Fin Affleck.”
Fin then read out a verse from the Bible, which emphasizes that qualities such as benevolence and honesty outweigh the materialistic value of a bad person with a large fortune.
The service was dedicated to the memory of Jennifer’s father, who died a week ago at the age of 85. Jennifer initially announced her father’s passing by posting an Instagram post dedicated to him, which talked about how kind, strong and caring he was.
Jennifer Garner also stressed that he led a busy life and left an indelible legacy to his family, which is now being passed on to Fin and their siblings.
Fin, the middle of three children, has an older sister Violet Affleck, who is 18 years old, and a younger brother Samuel Affleck, who is 12 years old. Although their parents separated in 2015 and officially divorced in 2018, they still get along well for the sake of their children.
