The Courier Sloppily Threw My Parcels on My Doorstep Smashing Them – I Taught Him a Lesson Once and for All

Recently, my family and I moved into a new house. We absolutely love the area, the neighbors, and everything around us. But there’s one issue. Every package I order online arrives dented and battered, like someone played football with it.

So, I decided to install a security camera by the front door and checked the footage the next time a package arrived damaged. What did I see? The delivery guy was literally chucking the package onto the porch from like 15 feet away!

Well, I decided to teach him a lesson once and for all! I ordered a new item online, and on the day the package was supposed to arrive, next to the front door I set up a “decoy” package filled with a special surprise: a box of marbles covered in a few layers of tissue paper. I wanted to make sure the marbles would spill out everywhere if thrown carelessly.

I positioned the decoy package strategically, making sure it was in plain sight but still placed where it wouldn’t actually block the door or be a nuisance to us. I then sat back, keeping an eye on the security footage from my phone.

Sure enough, the courier showed up. He walked up the path, package in hand. He didn’t even bother to get close to the door; he just tossed it from where he stood. The moment the package hit the ground, the sound of hundreds of marbles scattering was unmistakable. The delivery guy’s eyes went wide as he realized what had just happened.

I quickly stepped outside. “Hey there!” I called out, trying to keep my tone friendly despite my frustration.
The courier looked up, obviously flustered. “Oh, uh, sorry about that,” he stammered, looking down at the marbles rolling around.

I crossed my arms and said, “You know, I’ve been noticing that my packages always seem to arrive damaged. And now I see why.”

He looked genuinely nervous. “I… I didn’t mean to. It’s just faster this way.”

“Faster for you, maybe,” I replied, keeping my tone even. “But it’s not fair to the customers who pay for these items only to have them arrive broken. Can you imagine if something valuable or fragile was in there?”

He nodded, clearly embarrassed. “I’m really sorry. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal.”

“Well, it is,” I said firmly. “And it needs to stop. I’ve got everything on camera, and I’m willing to report this if it happens again.”

The courier seemed to realize the gravity of the situation. “It won’t happen again. I promise,” he said, looking earnest. “I’ll make sure your packages are handled properly from now on.”

I gave him a nod, watching as he bent down to start picking up the marbles. “Thank you. I hope you keep your word.”

From that day on, every package arrived safely and intact, carefully placed on the doorstep. It seemed the courier had taken my lesson to heart. As a result, I noticed a significant improvement not only with my deliveries but also with how he handled other packages in the neighborhood. Word must have gotten around about the incident because my neighbors began thanking me, saying their packages had also been arriving in better condition.

It felt good to know that I had made a difference and that my quick thinking had helped ensure that our deliveries were handled with the care and respect they deserved.
