The 61-year-old lead singer of Bon Jovi talked about his health at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena on Friday at Hulu\u2019s panel for the new docuseries Thank You, Good Night. He said that he\u2019s \u201cready to talk\u201d about his surgery on his voice.<\/p>\n
Bon Jovi said, \u201cI\u2019m proud of the fact that I was a real singer.\u201d \u201cI went on stage with Pavarotti.\u201d I can sing. I\u2019ve learned how to do it for forty years. I\u2019m not a stylist who only howls and barks. \u201cI understand how to sing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo when God was taking away my ability, and I couldn\u2019t understand why, I jokingly have said the only thing that\u2019s ever been up my nose is my finger \u2014 you know, so there\u2019s no reason for any of this,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Bon Jovi was lucky enough to meet a surgeon who gave him a \u201cstate-of-the-art implant to build the cord back up.\u201d He\u2019s been in rehab for 19 months now and is still \u201cin the process of healing.\u201d<\/p>\n
