Recalling that traumatic experience, Harry described the moment he got word of his mother\u2019s passing in his book, Spare. He described how his father sat beside his bed, telling him: \u201cDarling boy, Mummy\u2019s been in a car crash.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were complications. Mummy was quite badly injured and taken to hospital, darling boy,\u201d Harry recalled his father saying. \u201cHe always called me \u2018darling boy,\u2019 but he was saying it quite a lot now. His voice was soft. He was in shock, it seemed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith a head injury. They tried, darling boy. I\u2019m afraid she didn\u2019t make it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The prince further claimed that Charles put his hand on his knee, saying: \u201cIt\u2019s going to be OK,\u201d but that he \u201cdidn\u2019t hug\u201d him.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone knows where they were and what they were doing the night my mother died,\u201d Harry stated.<\/p>\n
\u201cI cried once, at the burial, and you know I go into detail about how strange it was and how actually there was some guilt that I felt and I think William felt as well, by walking around the outside of Kensington Palace.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were 50,000 bouquets of flowers to our mother and there we were shaking people\u2019s hands, smiling,\u201d he continued. \u201cI\u2019ve seen the videos, right, I looked back over it all. And the wet hands that we were shaking, we couldn\u2019t understand why their hands were wet, but it was all the tears that they were wiping away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mother had just died, and I had to walk a long way behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people watching me while millions more did on television,\u201d he told Newsweek in 2017. \u201cI don\u2019t think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances. I don\u2019t think it would happen today.\u201d<\/p>\n
Today, William and Harry barely speak to one another. Despite the rumors that they try to extend an olive branch to one another, many claim they don\u2019t even speak on the phone.<\/p>\n

\nAllegedly, Harry tried to schedule a call with his father on Father\u2019s Day but his efforts have been met with reluctance, as per royal author Tom Quinn.<\/p>\n
\u201cHarry has tried to schedule a call with his father already, but his father is prevaricating with Camilla advising against anything that might upset King Charles,\u201d Quinn told the Mirror. \u201cHe knows the world will be watching to see whether he is big enough to reach out to his father. He is determined to try to ignore his troubled relationship with his father and he will certainly send a warm message.\u201d<\/p>\n
Quinn claimed that while Harry wants to make amends, he has one big problem: He thinks King Charles doesn\u2019t care enough for him and instead \u201csupports\u201d William over his younger son.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s easy to forget that Harry really does love his father; he just hates the fact that Charles seems always to support William when there is a family dispute,\u201d Quinn told the Mirror.<\/p>\n
Hopefully, Harry and the rest of the royals would eventually make things right between them.<\/p>\n
