President-elect Donald Trump made numerous bombshell statements during his critically acclaimed press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday morning.\u00a0 One of which included the incoming president explaining that he would rename the Gulf of Mexico to the \u201cGulf of America\u201d because the United States does \u201cmost of the work\u201d and proclaimed that \u201cit\u2019s ours.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump informed the press, \u201cWe are going to be announcing at a future date, pretty soon we\u2019re going to change \u2026 because we do most of the work there, and it\u2019s ours \u2026 we\u2019re going to be changing \u2026 so the opposite of Biden, where he\u2019s closing everything up, essentially getting rid of fifty to sixty trillion dollars worth of assets.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cutting to the point, the president-elect stated, \u201cWe\u2019re going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.\u201d\u00a0 Trump quipped that the name change \u201chas a beautiful ring\u201d to it. He added, \u201cThe Gulf of America. What a beautiful name. And it\u2019s appropriate.\u201d\u00a0 Trump has also suggested that the U.S. could take back the Panama Canal in another act of reclaiming what belongs to America.<\/p>\n
Aside from his comments on changing the Gulf of Mexico\u2019s name, Trump addressed numerous other newsworthy topics during the press conference such as January 6, fossil fuels, and geopolitical conflict.\u00a0 At one point, he offered an inspiring message that the United States was on the precipice of a \u201cgolden age,\u201d vowing to undo the destruction of the Biden-Harris administration.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re the dawn of America\u2019s Golden Age. It\u2019s going to be a golden age for America. We have things that nobody else has. We have more natural resources. We have number one.\u201d Continuing to highlight America\u2019s vast natural resources, he said, \u201cNobody knew that until I came on made us number one. We\u2019re number three. I made us number one in a very short period of time in drilling.\u201d<\/p>\n
Criticizing counterproductive green energy initiatives, he said, \u201cAnd you know, you can talk about windmills. They litter our country. They\u2019re littered all over our country, like, like dropping paper, like dropping garbage in a field, and that\u2019s what happens to them, because in a period of time, they turn to garbage, most expensive energy ever.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pointing out that windmills are not economically feasible, Trump added, \u201cThey only work if you get subsidy. The only people that want them are the people that are getting rich off windmills, getting massive subsidies from the US government. And it\u2019s the most expensive energy there is. It\u2019s many, many times more expensive than clean natural gas.\u201d<\/p>\n
