The moment unfolded on\u00a0October 8<\/strong>, during a meeting where Trump spoke with conservative influencers and members of the press about antifa. As the 79-year-old addressed the crowd, Rubio quietly flagged him with something urgent.<\/p>\n

A Message You Couldn\u2019t Miss<\/h3>\n

\u201cYou need to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The note referred to a tentative peace deal between\u00a0Israel and Hamas<\/strong>, brokered with the help of Trump. At the time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s government and Hamas had reached preliminary agreement.<\/p>\n

Trump Reacts<\/h3>\n

After reading the note, Trump quickly addressed the room:<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just given a note by the secretary of state saying that we\u2019re very close to a deal on the Middle East, and they\u2019re gonna need me pretty quickly. So we\u2019ll take a couple of more questions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The meeting wrapped up roughly ten minutes later. Trump added:<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough I\u2019m very well represented by our secretary of state, he could probably do an even better job than me, but who knows. We don\u2019t want to take any chances. So we\u2019re going to go and do that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Approximately two hours after the meeting, Trump\u2019s\u00a0Truth Social account<\/strong>\u00a0posted the official announcement at 6:51 p.m. local time. The delay confirmed that his posts require approval before going live.<\/p>\n
