She believed her little boy was in good hands. But while she was at work, something horrific happened that would change everything.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her \u201cintuition\u201d made her leave work<\/h2>\n

A mother in Georgia is heartbroken after her 2-year-old son, Kaimir Jones, was killed by two Rottweilers while under the care of an unlicensed home daycare.<\/p>\n

Authorities say the horrifying incident unfolded on October 4, when 48-year-old Stacy Wheeler Cobb, who was operating the unlicensed daycare, fell asleep, leaving Kaimir unattended for more than two hours.<\/p>\n

During that time, investigators believe the toddler somehow managed to leave the home and open a kennel where two Rottweilers were kept. Tragically, the dogs attacked and killed him before Cobb discovered what had happened.<\/p>\n

First responders who arrived at the scene discovered that the child had already passed away. What makes this tragedy even more heartbreaking is how Kaimir\u2019s mother, Adrianna, learned of what happened. She wrote on GoFundMe:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis situation took place hours before I even knew about it. The only reason I know something happened is because the owner usually communicates throughout the day and she hadn\u2019t responded in about 3 hours. My intuition as a mother said get off work early and see what\u2019s going on. I got off early and pulled up to 8 polices at the home daycare\u2019s location. They were already inside taking pictures and so forth. This was a heartbreaking, devastating and traumatizing scene that I wouldn\u2019t wish on anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pleading for justice<\/h2>\n

Cobb is now in custody, facing multiple felony charges, including second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a horrible and tragic event that should have never occurred, but because of negligence on this offender\u2019s behalf, a mother has tragically lost a child,\u201d said Chief Leslie Manahan, at Valdosta Police Department.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to express our department\u2019s deepest sympathy to the family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kaimir Jones was the sole child at Cobb\u2019s home when the tragedy occurred, though police noted that typically, the house cares for around 10 children on a normal day.<\/p>\n

Kaimir\u2019s mother, Adrianna Jones, is now pleading for justice and for her son to be remembered.<\/p>\n

\u201dMy baby needs justice,\u201d the single mother said tearfully in an interview with\u00a0WLAB<\/a>. \u201dPlease promise me to keep my baby\u2019s name alive. He deserves it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Valdosta Police Chief Leslie Manahan confirmed the investigation is ongoing, with key questions still unanswered \u2014 such as how the toddler was able to access and open the kennel.<\/p>\n

Over $25,000 has been raised<\/h2>\n

Family members are demanding accountability, not only for Kaimir, but for other children who might be placed in the care of unlicensed caregivers.<\/p>\n

\u201dNo family should ever have to feel this kind of pain,\u201d Kaimir\u2019s grandfather said. \u201dWe trusted someone to protect him, not put him in harm\u2019s way.\u201d<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Adrianna Jones to honor Kaimir\u2019s memory and help the family during this devastating time. Over $25,000 has already been raised as of now.<\/p>\n
