Two police officers were sh*t and ki**ed over the weekend while responding to what authorities later confirmed was a domestic vi*lence call in Tremonton, Utah.<\/p>\n

Brigham City Police reported that a suspect was taken into custody on Sunday, August 17. The fallen officers were identified as\u00a0Sergeant Lee Sorensen<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Officer Eric Estrada<\/strong>, according to the Tremonton Garland Police Department.<\/p>\n

Sequence of Events<\/h2>\n

The tragedy began after police received\u00a0multiple 911 hang-up calls<\/strong>. An officer arrived at the residence and spoke with someone reporting a domestic disturbance. Suddenly, a man emerged from the home and opened f*re, striking the officer.<\/p>\n

A second officer responded shortly after and was\u00a0immediately sh*t<\/strong>\u00a0by the same suspect.<\/p>\n

Deputy and Service Dog Also Shot<\/h2>\n

A Box Elder County sheriff\u2019s deputy also rushed to assist. The suspect fired several rounds into his patrol vehicle, injuring both the deputy and his police dog. Thankfully, both survived and remain in \u201cfair condition\u201d at the hospital.<\/p>\n

Suspect in Custody<\/h2>\n

According to reports, bystanders persuaded the sh**ter to surrender his w**pon. Police then a**ested him at the scene. Court records show he faces charges of\u00a0capital aggravated m*rder<\/strong>,\u00a0attempted aggravated m*rder<\/strong>, and\u00a0misdemeanor a**ault<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Utah Governor Responds<\/h2>\n

Utah Governor\u00a0Spencer Cox<\/strong>\u00a0called the a**ack \u201ca tragic night.\u201d<\/p>\n
