FBI Director Kash Patel disclosed that a cache of documents related to the Russia probe had been found in a bureau secret room, hidden away in \u201cburn bags.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The FBI official told the Daily Mail that the records include the classified annexe to former Special Counsel John Durham\u2019s final report on the beginnings of the FBI investigation into Donald Trump\u2019s initial campaign, which includes the underlying intelligence he reviewed.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Durham looked into the FBI\u2019s investigation into any connections between Trump campaign officials and Russia during the 2016 election and came to the conclusion that, given the information available at the time, the FBI shouldn\u2019t have started the inquiry.<\/p>\n

A source with knowledge of the finding told the Daily Mail that the documents were probably saved from destruction due to a mistake made by earlier directors.<\/p>\n

The individual went on to say that if the FBI hadn\u2019t been methodically going through everything it encounters at the bureau, it\u2019s probable that the records would never have been spotted.<\/p>\n

According to the FBI spokeswoman, the results will be made public later on Wednesday after being sent to Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the head of the Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n

According to President Trump, he was in favour of the information being made public.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

\u201cI want everything to be shown, as long as it is fair and reasonable,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to see people exposed that might be bad, and we\u2019ll see how that all works out,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0he told reporters at the White House.<\/p>\n

But if the FBI had something,\u00a0\u201cthey would have released it,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the president remarked.<\/p>\n

He reiterated his long-standing accusation that Democrats were responsible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole thing is a scam. It is a scam set up by the Democrats,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Trump said.<\/p>\n

Fox News\u00a0was the first to report on the discovery.<\/p>\n

A \u2018burn bag\u2019 is a safe container that government organisations employ to destroy sensitive or classified documents, usually by shredding or burning them to keep unwanted access at bay.<\/p>\n

Once one of the FBI\u2019s most outspoken critics, Patel has begun reorganising the agency, which includes reassigning some top agents and terminating others.<\/p>\n

He pledged a\u00a0\u201cwave of transparency\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0at the start of his term, especially on the probe into potential connections between the Trump campaign in 2016 and Russia.<\/p>\n

Known as \u2018Crossfire Hurricane,\u2019 the FBI conducted a counterintelligence investigation into any connections between Russia and Trump\u2019s initial presidential campaign.<\/p>\n

According to Durham\u2019s report, the inquiry was\u00a0\u201cseriously flawed,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0but no proof of criminal activity was found.<\/p>\n

Additionally, his study refuted Trump\u2019s assertion that special counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s report was a\u00a0\u201choax\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0or a\u00a0\u201cwitch hunt.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mueller\u2019s report found the FBI investigation\u00a0\u201cdid not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0but it did find Russian interference in the 2016 contest that it claimed benefitted Trump.<\/p>\n

In contrast, Trump has frequently asserted that the FBI\u2019s investigation into the 2016 election was a witch hunt.<\/p>\n

Throughout the federal government, his devoted followers have been looking for proof to corroborate his assertion.<\/p>\n

In an interview with podcast host Joe Rogan in June, Patel claimed to have discovered a room filled with computer hard drives and documents\u00a0\u201cthat no one had ever seen or heard of.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cJust think about this,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Patel told Rogan.\u00a0\u201cMe, as director of the FBI, the former \u2018Russiagate guy,\u2019 when I first got to the bureau, found a room that [former FBI director James] Comey and others hid from the world in the Hoover Building, full of documents and computer hard drives that no one had ever seen or heard of. Locked the key and hid access and just said, \u2018No one\u2019s ever gonna find this place.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since then, Patel and his team have been going over the documents.<\/p>\n

Additional Trump officials are coming forward with information related to the election of 2016.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s head of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, said last week that Russian President Vladimir Putin has classified material about Hillary Clinton and intended to use it against her when she was president.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

She asserted that intelligence reports for the government showed that Russia genuinely desired a Clinton win in 2016.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis report shows Putin \u2026 held back from leaking compromising material on Hillary Clinton prior to the election, instead planning to release it after the election,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Gabbard said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe intelligence community intentionally suppressed intelligence that showed Putin was saving the most damaging material that he had in his possession about Hillary Clinton until after her potential and likely victory,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0she noted.<\/p>\n
