\nA day after Milwaukee police issued an amber alert for Jamal White, the 7-year-old has been found.<\/p>\n

White was \u201ctaken at gunpoint\u201d outside of his residence around 7:00 p.m. local time on Friday, July 11, the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) said in a notice following the alleged abduction.<\/p>\n

At 6:36 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, the MPD announced that White had been safely located, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.<\/p>\n

\u201cJamal has been located and is safe,\u201d the MPD said, per the Journal Sentinel. \u201cThe Milwaukee Police Department would like to thank everyone for their assistance in this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the MPD also confirmed the news in a statement to PEOPLE on Sunday, July 13, stating that White \u201cwas found and is safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

A 25-year-old man was arrested in relation to White\u2019s disappearance, the MPD spokesperson said, adding that \u201ccriminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney\u2019s Office.\u201d<\/p>\n

White, who is also known as \u201cBaby J,\u201d was taken in a white Jeep Renegade SUV with an unknown license plate by a Black male suspect wearing a black face mask and a black hooded sweatshirt, according to the alert.<\/p>\n

No other details tied to the alleged abduction have been released.<\/p>\n

Cherica Morrise, a woman who said she is White\u2019s grandmother, also announced that he had been found in a post on Facebook, writing, \u201cBaby J has been found and he\u2019s okay! One person has been arrested. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!\u201d<\/p>\n

White\u2019s cousin Nikki Harrington told the Journal Sentinel that the 7-year-old was taken to a hospital to be examined.<\/p>\n

Harrington told the Journal Sentinel that she did not have any information about White\u2019s disappearance, and that she and the family are waiting for police to conduct an investigation.<\/p>\n

Another one of White\u2019s cousins, Raven Jackson, described the young boy to the Milwaukee newspaper as a sweet, playful and charismatic kid who \u201cjust enjoys being him.\u201d<\/p>\n
