Last Tuesday, June 24, Scrapyard frontman David Roach learnt that his diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer, is\u00a0\u201clife-altering\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0because it has spread to his head, neck, and throat, necessitating 24-hour care.<\/p>\n

In January, the rock group announced on Instagram that the singer, who has played with the group for over thirty years, is battling cancer.<\/p>\n

The post read in part,\u00a0\u201cWe all know and love David Roach \u2013 not just as our incredible singer, but as a true friend, an inspiration, and a fighter. Right now, he\u2019s facing one of the toughest battles of his life: an aggressive cancer diagnosis.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u2018Hollywood\u2019 rock star has recently taken to social media to describe how, months after receiving a diagnosis of the fatal illness, a frequent symptom caused him to attend the emergency room.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst off, we want to thank you all for the overwhelming support and love you\u2019ve shown us during this incredibly challenging time,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the post, which was attributed to Roach and his fianc\u00e9e Jennifer, said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wish we could respond to each of you, but honestly, there are no words right now. We\u2019re still struggling to process the news we received on Tuesday.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter David\u2019s ongoing fever and cough led us to the ER, we got results that have completely shattered our world. It\u2019s devastating and life-altering, and we\u2019re trying to navigate through the emotions and uncertainty that come with it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The joint-statement continued:\u00a0\u201cDavid is showing such incredible strength and resilience, and even in the midst of this darkness, he\u2019s still managing to keep his sense of humor. It\u2019s a reminder of how amazing he is.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
