An unknown number of firefighters were shot while responding to a brushfire on Sunday in Coeur d\u2019Alene, Idaho, according to CNN.
\nKXLY reported it is trying to confirm claims \u201cthat fire crews responding to a wildfire were ambushed and shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

All fire suppression efforts in the area have been halted for now.<\/p>\n

KHQ NBC noted that the Kootenai Sheriff\u2019s Office sent out an alert: \u201cActive shooter at Canfield Mountain. Injuries are reported, but the extent is unknown. Avoid the area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kootenai Emergency Management is telling people in the area of the shooting to \u201cshelter in place.\u201d<\/p>\n
