Her parents,\u00a0<strong>Ben<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Aby<\/strong>, first noticed a lump on her shoulder while she was brushing her teeth in December 2020.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\"><\/div>\n<p>Scans at Jersey General Hospital revealed a 7 cm tumor in her left lung. Beth began chemotherapy on\u00a0<strong>Christmas Day<\/strong>, followed by major surgery to remove her left shoulder blade, and weeks of radiotherapy. Despite the difficult treatments, she remained strong and positive. After nine months, she was declared cancer-free.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, in June 2022, Beth started experiencing pain in her right shoulder. Scans revealed the cancer had returned. Faced with the choice of enrolling her in a clinical trial or focusing on her comfort, her parents chose\u00a0<strong>palliative care<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Beth passed away on\u00a0<strong>October 3, 2022<\/strong>, surrounded by her parents, their dog, and cat. She was just 12 days away from her 13th birthday.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5687\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyzonenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-86.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailyzonenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-86.png 768w, https:\/\/dailyzonenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-86-225x300.png 225w\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>In her memory, her father Ben, an HR director, is cycling across the UK from\u00a0<strong>Land\u2019s End to John O\u2019Groats<\/strong>\u00a0(June 22\u2013July 5) to raise funds for the\u00a0<strong>Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT)<\/strong>\u00a0through JustGiving.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cBeth is my guiding light,\u201d Ben said. \u201cWe miss her every day.
