The Kremlin wasted no time slamming the US\u2019s involvement. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the decision\u00a0\u201creckless, dangerous, aimed at a qualitative change, a qualitative increase in the level of involvement of the United States in this conflict.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

He reaffirmed President Vladimir Putin\u2019s earlier cautions that such backing signifies\u00a0\u201cdirect involvement\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>of NATO and the United States in the conflict.<\/p>\n

Peskov added that\u00a0\u201cthe outgoing administration in Washington intends to take steps to continue adding fuel to the fire and continue to provoke tension around this conflict.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The two biggest nuclear-armed nations in the world have seen a sharp decline in their diplomatic ties; some believe a new Cold War may be on the horizon.<\/p>\n

As U.S. involvement in Ukraine deepens, ripple effects are being felt in other hot zones. Iran\u2019s United Nations mission recently blasted American tactics, stating:\u00a0\u201cIran does NOT negotiate under duress, shall NOT accept peace under duress, and certainly NOT with a has-been warmonger clinging to relevance,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>per\u00a0ABC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Zakharova, the world is on the verge of\u00a0\u201ca nuclear disaster.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
