The incident, which occurred on August 2, 2018, unfolded after Harris arrived at the QT near 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and Dunlap avenues. When his daughter walked out, she said that a man had tried to enter her locked stall in the women\u2019s bathroom.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opposingviews.com\/.image\/t_share\/MTg4MzA3OTU2MzczMTM2Mzk4\/dad3.png\" alt=\"Melvin Harris in prison uniform,\u00a0Photo Credit: 12 News\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Security escorted the man out, and Harris\u2019 daughter pointed him out. Harris approached the security guard and stated that he was going to take care of the situation himself.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opposingviews.com\/.image\/t_share\/MTg4MzA3OTU2MzczMjY3NTc4\/dad4.jpg\" alt=\"Melvin Harris alongside a photo of the man he killed, Photo Credit: Twitter\/infowe\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>According to witnesses, Harris punched Leon Armstrong in the face, knocking him to the ground. He beat him up some more then left. Armstrong suffered a severe brain injury and died a few days later.
