Elon Musk attended a cabinet meeting in the White House in Washington, D.C., on April 30, 2025. His appearance during the meeting immediately attracted notice on social media, with internet users focusing on a single aspect.<\/p>\n

Musk was seen sitting in the Cabinet Room with a red Gulf of America cap that resembled the popular\u00a0\u201cMake America Great Again (MAGA)\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0hats. President Donald Trump renamed the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America by signing an executive order earlier in the year on January 20, 2025.<\/p>\n

Numerous local and federal entities in the United States have begun to use the new name, despite the fact that it has not yet gained international recognition. The numbers\u00a0\u201c45 \u2013 47,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0which alluded to Trump\u2019s tenure as the 45th and current 47th president of the United States, were also displayed on the cap.<\/p>\n

Musk seemed to be wearing all black except for the cap. One video showed the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) wearing a black and red headgear before taking them off to talk.<\/p>\n

During the exchange, Trump\u00a0joked<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cElon, I love your double hat, by the way. He\u2019s the only one who can get away with that.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Musk\u00a0quipped<\/a>\u00a0in response,\u00a0\u201cWell, Mr. President, as they say, I wear a lot of hats. Even my hat wears a hat!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
