Travelling onboard a luxury cruise ship can be quite an experience, but what many don\u2019t know is that it sometimes comes with an unusual \u201cthreat.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, it has recently been reveled by a passenger on the Cunard Queen Anne ship, which is embarking on an 111-night \u2018maiden World voyage\u2019 from Hamburg,\u00a0Germany \u2013 visiting sights such as New York,\u00a0Sydney,\u00a0Hawaii, Penang and Cape Town, alongside passing through the Sulu-Celebs sea \u2013 that the passengers were warned to shut off lights and draw curtains.<\/p>\n

In the TikTok video, which has over 8 million views, the captain warns the nearly 3,000 travellers onboard the cruise ship of a \u2018heightened level of security alertness\u2019 as a result of traveling through piracy-prone areas.<\/h3>\n

The external promenade decks shuttering overnight\u00a0would reduce the ship\u2019s visibility, the person who shared the captain\u2019s announcement on TikTok explained.<\/p>\n
