Singer Courtney Love is no stranger to making headlines. Throughout her decades-long career, she has been in the news more often than not.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, the 60-year-old singer has opened up publicly about her \u2018big move\u2019 and what it entails and was inspired by.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Courtney Love has been living in London for the last five years and is now planning to make the move permanent. The former singer for Hole revealed that in six months, she would qualify for her British citizenship. And as things heat up in the United States politically, the\u00a0singer<\/a>\u00a0seems to be happy at being able to relocate.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, she sat with Todd Almond at London\u2019s Geographical Society and talked about his new oral history\u00a0Slow Train Coming: Bob Dylan\u2019s Girl from the North Country and Broadway\u2019s Rebirth<\/em>. She also performed, Dylan\u2019s \u201cLike a Rolling Stone,\u201d at the occasion.<\/p>\n

While the two spoke, she was vocal about her life in London. \u201cI\u2019m really glad I\u2019m here. It\u2019s so great to live here. I\u2019m finally getting my British citizenship in six months. I get to be a citizen. I\u2019m applying, man! Can\u2019t get rid of me,\u201d she apparently\u00a0said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Though she did not say the move was a direct result of\u00a0President Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0being sworn into office, she has in the past been vocal about her disdain for the politician. She had even compared his politics to \u201cemperor-core,\u201d and said things were \u201cfrightening now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of Trump, and particularly this group\u2026 it\u2019s like emperor-core. Like, wearing million-dollar watches. Emperor-core is going on at Mar-a-Lago,\u201d she\u00a0said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Courtney Love made the move to London from Los Angeles in October 2019. In a 2022 interview, she\u00a0shared<\/a>\u00a0what she liked about the city, \u201cLaws. No guns. Four seasons. Discourse. You stan a middle-aged woman far better. Discretion.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m an Anglophile. I love London, it\u2019s my favorite city and is the best place I\u2019ve ever lived,\u201d she said\u00a0in an interview<\/a>\u00a0in 2024. \u201cI\u2019m left alone, there are laws here that protect me when I\u2019m being outspoken, I like the friends I\u2019ve made here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer is just one of the many celebrities who are making moves to places outside of the U.S.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month,\u00a0Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/a>\u00a0shared that she had moved to Ireland with her 12-year-old child and was in the process of getting citizenship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that\u2019s what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child. And here we are,\u201d Rose O\u2019Donnell explained in a TikTok video explaining her move. \u201cYou know, I\u2019m happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home and I\u2019m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that\u2019s when we will consider coming back.\u201d<\/p>\n

She alluded to the reasons for her move being something to do with the new administration, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s been heartbreaking to see what\u2019s happening politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, Ellen DeGeneres also moved to England with her wife, Ellen DeGeneres.<\/p>\n

\u201cEllen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October. She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after,\u201d a source\u00a0shared<\/a>\u00a0with the press.<\/p>\n
